Yes – we are TOTALLY SOLD OUT!

April 14th, 2011 Buzz · Featured

It’s amazing, but we’ve totally sold out of our 2010 Zoptopz caps! We no longer have any stock to sell on this website. We also have not yet made plans to manufacture more in 2011, but based on the demand, we’re now looking at working with other brands and manufacturers who want to license our patents and designs to manufacture our caps! If you’re interested in licensing our patents and designs, please email us at info@zoptopz.com!

We have also sold a large quantity of caps (about 5,000 or so) to a promotional goods company in New York. It’s possible that the distributor might be willing to sell the whole lot to someone, but you’d have to take the whole lot, not individual caps. If you’re interested in either licensing our product or purchasing the batch of 5,000 remaining caps from our distributors, please email us at info@zoptopz.com!

Zoptopz Contest Giveaway: “Here To Crimp Your Style”

We here at LAT34 know many action sports athletes and it is pretty safe to say all 12 of them agree that other street cultures are biting their style. They are all getting pretty sick and tired of it.  In the past, if someone told me that snowboarders were defacing property by spraying paint all over the city, I would have told you that you must have been inhaling too much spray paint yourself.  But it’s true; TAGGERS are dressing like SNOWBOARDERS to protect themselves from the cold and from inhaling too much paint.  If you think that’s outrageous, imagine seeing people surf, but not on waves but rather on the roofs of cars.  And we’re not talking about people, but some of the hairiest TEENAGERS at school.  And of course there are the skateboarders.  Just turn on any RAP video and I can tell you that the way hats are worn now, was how skaters got made fun of for wearing them in the 90’s.  Flat.

Well I think a style revolution is upon us and it is time to go against the status quo. ZOPTOPZ is a new look revolutionizing the baseball cap with brims that are no longer flat or curved.  Their brims have unique shapes that are Crimped, Curled, Bent, and Warped. Baseball caps are not about baseball anymore – they are about fashion. And they are cranking things up at Zoptopz by putting a crimp in your style and in your hat.

Check it out on Lat34 for more info on the contest and details.

“Zoptopz is excited to be part of one of the industry’s and world’s most noted celebrity and artist events,” said Ron Schmelzer, Founder and CEO of Zoptopz. “We see Zoptopz as fitting in well with the overall attitude of the event, which showcases individuality and uniqueness. The Teen Choice awards is all about standing out in the crowd and the Zoptopz ‘crimped and curled’ caps certainly fit the bill… pun intended.”

Teen Choice has become famous for bringing together the biggest names in music, movies, and sports for a celebration of the entertainment industry. Zoptopz designs are musical and artistic collaborations that are based on the urban, street, and hip-hop inspired culture.

Zoptopz has also entered into sponsorship and marketing agreements with fighters and brands in the mixed martial arts (MMA) industry, with Jacob and Joey Kirwan of Ferocity MMA being the first sponsored fighters.

“We are excited to partner with Backstage Creations to bring Zoptopz to the attention of the industry’s most important movers-and-shakers,” said Schmelzer. “Participating in events such as Teen Choice 2010 will help accelerate what is already becoming an international trend.”

Bmore Media Magazine Front Page Feature: Zoptopz

Zoptopz is in the press again today! We were just featured by Bmore Media Magazine with an awesome title and some great photos. Below are some excerpts from the article:

Not the kind of person to let a good idea go to waste, Schmelzer got to work. A year and a half later, Schmelzer and his team had done it. The results were a baseball cap with a radically altered brim.

“There are four designs in total: M, Wave, Crimp and Curl, names that should be kind of descriptive. They basically come from my own inspiration. We’d been looking at some designs and just drawing it out on a piece of paper. The key was balancing the craziness of the bill with its manufacturability. These designs had the best combination of things. They were the most visually striking, hats people could look at it and tell that it was really different, and had manufacturability which would keep the price reasonable.”

“There are a lot of people designing for baseball caps, now. We’re hoping to give them a new canvass for their design. They’re limited right now to designing for the front of the cap and maybe the side and it kind leaks onto the brim. By giving them this other space, we hope it really takes off,” he explains.

Zoptopz Hooks Up With Hip-Hop and R&B star Ja’Vion McVadian

The list of great artists lined up to represent Zoptopz, just seems to grow and grow. And as word on the streets heats up about Zoptopz, we were lucky enough to snag one of today’s hottest emerging artists, Ja’Vion McVadian. I was able to sit down with Ja’Vion for an interview and I wanted to know what it’s like when he steps on stage. Ja’Vion very honestly says, “I continually replay my possible actions in my mind over and over again up until I sing the first note. I concentrate on what I am going to sound like, look like, and move like. I want to look the best, sound the best, and perform the best no matter if it’s for one person, or 1000 people.”

It’s that kind of key intuition and drive that attracted us to Ja’Vion in the first place. He has taken his role as a leader in the industry to make a statement with is influence. He says, “I work in an environment where I see talented people everywhere and they are wasting their lives committing crimes and not living up to their full potential. I see youth literally throwing their lives away because of the examples my fellow peers leave them to follow.”
Like you I can’t wait to see what’s next for Ja’Vion but one thing I do know is that he’ll be hitting the streets wearing a Zoptopz cap!

A Whole New Kind Of Rap: F.R.L. Endorses Zoptopz

March 16th, 2010 Buzz · Featured

Talk about an exciting time for Zoptopz!  After thinking that MAGIC would be the highlight of the month, hooking up with Baltimore based rapper F.R.L. is proof the Zoptopz engine is still blazing hot. F.R.L. is currently working on a hot new rap just for Zoptopz that we can’t wait to showcase to everyone. Get ready to hear F.R.L.’s rap entitled, “Crimp Your Style” where Shawn will be putting his lyrical twist on how you crimping your style is a growing trend.

F.R.L. tells us he is eager to hop on board to rap about Zoptopz since he sees himself as a new kind of rapper with Zoptopz being an entirely new kind of cap (to say the least).  F.R.L.’s unique style has made him an emerging hip-hop star with a bright future ahead and we are just happy to welcome him to our family. As I type this, I can picture F.R.L.  at his desk or maybe in his car or even walking down the street thinking of rhymes about our caps and that alone gives me chills just in anticipation!

We will have the video and rap ready soon and know that when we do it go live right away. So, as F.R.L. would say, “Crimp your style” today. Make it hot and make it a Zoptopz.
